Kiteboarding from Cebu can be as hassle... going to Bohol and not being sure about the wind, going to Bantayan and having a long drive and boat trip, going to Boracay and having to take the plane... only for few days?
There is a solution: Negros Oriental and particularly Zamboanguita. Kite In Negros is a newly opened kitesurboarding center, at only 30 minutes from Dumaguete.
From Cebu, or even from Manila, it is very accessible!
- From Cebu:
You have several transport options:
~ Plane from Mactan to Dumaguete and then pick up by van to go to Zamboanguita. Cebu Pacific is doing several trips per day and there are some early in the morning that can allow you to ride few after leaving your home in Cebu.
~ The boat. A bit cheaper than the plane, but really efficient still. You arrive at 9.30 in Dumaguete and 10 AM in Zamboanguita, if you take the first ferry with Ocean Jet. There are also night ferries where you can sleep on and arrive in the night in Duma, have a sleepover in town and directly come to the spot at 8 AM.
~ By Bus... for those on budget or someone with plenty of time. It takes about 6 hours to drive, but it is cheap! 300 pesos to Dumaguete.
- From Manila:
The best , and only sustainable way is the plane. 2 companies are providing regular flight and it wont cost you more than 150$ for the return trip if you plan a bit ahead.
Kite In Negros arrange the transportation by van or private car from Dumaguete, but there are several ways to do it... All is explained HERE
